Two separate things happen after you tap Save call, and they're easy to mistake for each other.
The upload
First the recording has to leave your phone. That happens in the background. You can navigate around the app while it runs, and there's nothing to watch.
With no connection, the recording is kept on the device and waits, then goes on its own once you're online again. See the upload queue.
The processing
Once it reaches Junior, the call is worked through in stages, and the call's page names whichever it's on: transcribing the call, cleaning the transcript, generating takeaways. Junior tells you what to expect: "KTAs, Summary & Transcript will appear here automatically." You don't have to wait on the screen or refresh.
How long processing takes depends on the length of the call and how busy the service is, so there's no reliable number to quote. If a call has been processing far longer than others of the same length, that's worth reporting.
Questions
What's the difference between uploading and processing?
Uploading is the file moving from your phone to Junior, and it needs a connection. Processing is Junior turning that audio into a transcript, a summary and takeaways, and it happens on our side after the upload finishes. A call can be fully uploaded and still be processing.
Can I close the app while it's uploading?
You can leave the app and use something else. Force-closing it from the app switcher does stop an upload in progress, but the recording survives and goes back to the upload queue. Junior picks it up again on its own the next time you open the app or come back online.
It says Processing failed.
Junior couldn't get through the recording. The two messages you may see are that the recording couldn't be processed, or that the transcript couldn't be. Both suggest trying the upload again. If a second attempt fails the same way, the audio itself is likely the problem. A silent or near-silent recording will fail here rather than produce an empty transcript.
